CITY-WIDE CAROLING - Under the sponsorship of the United Christian Youth Council, there will be a city-wide Christmas caroling this year. The project is designed to bring Christmas to the homes of shut-ins, and participating churches have provided a list of persons unable to attend Christmas programs. Here a group of members of the youth organization do a little impromptu rehearsing. Left to right in the back row are Paul Brownson, Shawn Youker, and Don Jaquish. In the front row are Phyllis Wilson, Noreen Towne, and Solveig Sorum.
Pep President Sherri McKian of Traverse City High hands over the gavel to Judy Rae, incoming president, as retiring and incoming officers look on. To the right of Sherri is retiring secretary Martha Needham and beside her retiring treasurer, Sandra Chine. Incoming officers on the left or treasurer, Noreene Towne; secretary, Susan Crabb; and vice president, Kathy Bellaw.. At the installation banquet last week Sherri McKian, Kay Lahym, Barbara McKinnon, Sandra Clune, and Meredith Raftshol received four-year awards, medals awarded for the first time in the six-year history of the banquet.

The pole will be of monument type with a marble base and bronze plaque. Total cost is $1,500. Here officers of the Pep Club present a check to Dr. Glenn Loomis, superintendent of schools.  Left to right in the picture are Becky Walton, club vice-president; Joni Fisher, president; Dr. Loomis; Noreen Towne, treasurer; and Sharon.
